Article II. Statement of Purpose
Section 1. Guiding Principles
The purpose of the SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association is to increase awareness and to enlighten the University of Miami campus on Puerto Rican culture. We shall promote the desire of constant advancement in the Puerto Rican community.
Section 2. Objectives
The objectives of the SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association shall be to increase Puerto Rican involvement and to provide events and opportunity to promote Puerto Rican unity. We shall participate in community involvement and work with other Puerto Rican establishments for mutual benefits of the organizations and the community.
Article III. Responsibilities
SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association shall comply with all University of Miami policies and procedures as detailed in Student Rights and Responsibilities, The Student Organization Handbook, as well as local, state and federal laws.
Article IV. Membership
Section 1. General Membership
Membership of SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association shall be open to all University of Miami in Good Academic Standing who have paid their Student Activities Fee. SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, handicap, age, sexual orientation, or political and religious affiliation in any of its policies, procedures, or practices. Non-voting memberships may be extended to interested faculty, administrators, staff members, and alumni of the University. Active membership in SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association is defined as those students who pay a membership fee per semester to provide for funds for the operation of the club. Benefits of membership include the right to vote will be able to participate in any event sponsor by SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association. Member also can run for any office in the club.

Article VII. Advisor
The Advisor of SABOR: Puerto Rican Student Association shall be a full-time faculty, administrator, or staff member at the University of Miami.
Article IX. Committees
The President and Advisor when needed can appoint committees.
Article XII. Amendments
Section 1. Submission
Amendments to this constitution will be submitted to the President in writing for submission to the members for the vote.
Section 2. Vote
A vote of two-third 2/3 members will suffice for adoption.
Section 3. Final Approval
Amendments must be presented to the Committee of Student Organizations for approval prior to implementation
