Marriages on The Rock

Marriages on the Rock is an event put on by Outspoken to protest for marriage equality in America. Anyone can come by the rock on campus and marry whoever they want so long as they marry only one person at a time. Participants get a complimentary certificate congratulating them on their new nuptials as well as cake. A picture of the happy picture is available online.

Usually, Marriages on the Rock is the biggest event not only for Outspoken, but Spectrum as well. The event allows people to participate in a socially conscious action while having fun with their friends. The event also has the luxury, for many not that comfortable within the GLBT community, of being an event that is more about showing your appreciation for those you care about rather than overtly showing your support or pride for the GLBT community.
