1970s
Joe Alley, M.D. ’71, is a radiologist in New Gloucester, Maine, after practicing family medicine for several years in rural Maine.

Stephen Banister, M.D. ’71, practices and teaches holistic medicine in Grass Valley, California.

John Barlow, M.D. ’71, is an otolaryngologist in Manhattan, Kansas.

Wayne H. Case, M.D. ’71, is a family physician in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also has established a distribution business and is involved in real estate.

David R. Chapman, M.D. ’71, has a private gynecology practice in Florence, South Carolina.

Steven L. Duckor, M.D. ’71, shares a private practice in gastroenterology and primary care in Anaheim, California. He also serves as the medical director of a chemical dependency program for substance abusers.

Robert T. Hayden, M.D. ’71, is an obstetrician/gynecologist in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, after practicing in Japan and Pennsylvania.

Thomas A. Hoffeld, M.D. ’71, is an orthopaedist in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Charles Hyams, M.D. ’71, is a retired anesthesiologist living in Coral Gables, Florida. He serves as a volunteer reader for the blind and dyslexic. He also provides a reading service for radio listeners.

Gary Montsdeoca, M.D. ’71, is a semiretired rheumatologist living in Sebring, Florida. He also enjoys businesses in farming and ranching.

John P. Mooney, M.D. ’71, is a retired emergency physician in Odessa, Florida, and served as director of emergency services at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa.

Frank A. Pidala, M.D. ’71, practices emergency medicine in Tampa, Florida, and spends his spare time tending to a heavy machinery sales business.

Dan Riesenberg, M.D. ’71, has a private urology practice in Abilene, Texas, after stints in Illinois and California.

Don Russell, M.D. ’71, is a radiologist in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The eldest of his four children is a pediatric resident at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.

Alden Sanborn, M.D. ’71, has a family practice in Orlando, Florida. He has held many medical staff positions, including chief of staff and member of the board of trustees of Lucerne Medical Center.

Alan A. Slomowitz, M.D. ’71, has a private practice in radiation oncology and participates in the activities of the Texas Radiological Society. He is “dabbling” with the idea of entering the used car business in his hometown of Dallas.

Donald J. Stoner, M.D ’71, has a private cardiology practice in Ormond Beach, Florida. He has served as director of the Heart Program, as well as director of the cathode lab and several intensive care units, at Halifax Medical Center.

James A. Strohmeyer, M.D. ’71, is a retired anesthesiologist who practiced for 26 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.

A. Fred Turner, M.D. ’71, shares a private obstetrics/gynecology practice in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Jonathan Wasserberger, M.D. ’71, is a professor of emergency medicine at UCLA. He is the coauthor of Medical Toxicology: The Management of Human Poisoning, published in 1997.

Antonio G. Yong, M.D. ’71, is an otolaryngologist with a surgical practice in Miami, Florida.

1980s
Charles Burkett, M.D. ’81, works with Radiology Associates in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Ruth Schobel, M.D. ’81, is president of a solo pediatric practice in Miami Lakes, Florida.

Albert Begas, M.D. ’82, practices medical oncology in Boca Raton, Florida, primarily serving breast cancer patients.

Kathleen Friend, M.D. ’82, is an adult and geriatric psychiatrist in Wisconsin.

1990s
Bettina Belles, M.D. ’91, works for the Ambulatory Diagnostic Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

Rob Brown, M.D. ’91, is a radiologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Kenneth “Kenny” Cohen, M.D. ’91, practices with South Florida Pediatric Partners in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Amy A. Griswold, M.D. ’91, is an anesthesiologist in Bradenton, Florida.

Rene Hinkle, M.D. ’91, is part of the only private obstetrics/ gynecology practice in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Jennifer Keedy, M.D. ’91, is a radiologist at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Carolyn Leavitt, M.D. ’91, has a private practice in psychiatry and psychoanalysis in Miami, Florida.

Cristina “Cristy” Rodriguez-Montiel, M.D. ’91, practices at Westchester Pediatric Associates in Miami, Florida.

Amada “Amy” Romano-Silva, M.D. ’91, practices at Miami Pediatrics in Miami Beach and Aventura, Florida.

Anthony Schmidt, M.D. ’91, is an attending physician at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Robert A. Schneider, M.D. ’91, is an attending physician at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Michael Smets, M.D. ’91, is president of Smetzalez Medical Management, Inc., in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
