Preview New Exhibits at the Lowe
On Friday, December 14, participate in an exhibition preview of The Art Students League Of New York: Highlights From The Permanent Collection and Afro-Cuba: Works On Paper, 1968-2003 at the Lowe Museum. A lecture runs from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Storer Auditorium in the School of Business Administration presented by Pamela Koob, curator of the permanent collection, The Art Students League of New York. The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Lowe Art Museum which includes a tour of the galleries and music, light fare, and cocktails. The reception is free for Lowe members, $10 for non-members, $5 for students.

Wendy Pedersen in Concert
Acclaimed vocalist Wendy Pedersen will perform with the Frost Jazz Vocal Ensemble on Thursday, November 29 at 8 p.m. in the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall. Lawrence Lapin, director of jazz vocal, studio music, and jazz at the Frost School of Music, will direct the concert. “Puppy Love” Project to Raise Money for UM/Sylvester at auction on Friday, December 8!
Contemporary home design leader Luminaire is combining art and fashion to support cancer research in Miami. Nasir and Nargis Kassamali, the founders of Luminaire, have sent 3-dimensional puppy “canvases” to more than two dozen designers and artists for them to design as they see fit. The finished pieces will be sold at a live charity auction led by Christie’s Auction House during Art Basel, Friday, December 8th, at the Luminaire studio in the Miami Design District.
