Celebrate with co-workers and family members as the Miami Marlins take on the Chicago Cubs at Marlins Park

In appreciation of the dedication and outstanding work of its employees, the University of Miami will host Family Weekend with the Miami Marlins on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at Marlins Park in Little Havana. Playing their second season in their new 37,000-seat ballpark, the Marlins will take on the National League Central Division Chicago Cubs at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 and 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Each regular employee, as well as contract employees, can receive one complimentary ticket and purchase up to two (2) additional tickets for $1 each. Employees are allowed to pick up one complimentary ticket and purchase up to two (2) additional tickets for one game only—either the April 27 or April 28 game. Children under 3 do not require tickets. Each ticket comes with a food voucher for a hot dog, chips, and a fountain drink or bottle of water.

You must have a valid ’Cane Card (UM ID) to receive your tickets; only one ID card per person will be permitted, and you cannot bring anyone else’s ID to purchase tickets for them. You can only receive tickets at a single ticket distribution session; you cannot go multiple times. Cash only will be accepted for all ticket purchases. Tickets for both games will be available for sale at all ticket distribution sites on all days while quantities last.

Ticket distribution will begin Wednesday, March 6, and will continue on multiple dates thereafter. Contract employees must pick up their tickets at the Foote University Green location near the Richter Library. Miller School and University of Miami Hospital employees will be able to get tickets at either the Miller School or UMH distribution sites.

Pregame and Postgame Activities
Each game will feature pregame activities for the entire family. Family activities and entertainment will be located on the West Plaza from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday (UM ID required). Pregame on-field ceremonies will highlight the University of Miami at both games, including UM employees throwing out ceremonial first pitches.

The Saturday, April 27 game has been designated the “Saturday Spectacular” and will include a free postgame concert on the West Plaza with Coolio featuring Biz Markie. The Sunday, April 28 game is “Family Sunday.” The first 5,000 children 12 years of age and younger will receive a free Miami Marlins/University of Miami Kids T-Shirt.
