It won’t be an elegant beachfront resort, but the researchers about to occupy the Clinical Research Building couldn’t be more excited about their new home.

Faculty from the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, the Center for Research in Medical Education, and elsewhere have been moving into the 15-story, 350,000-square-foot facility. The building’s parking garage and Medical Wellness Center are already open and in use.

The facility will play a key role in the planned Clinical Research Institute, which is designed to answer a call from the National Institutes of Health to revolutionize how human medical research is done. The CRI is expected to serve as a model for translating promising research into lifesaving patient care.
