Thomas J. LeBlanc,
Ph.D.
Dr. Thomas J. LeBlanc was appointed Executive Vice President and Provost in 2005. He is the chief academic officer and chief budget officer for the University, responsible for overseeing and coordinating academic programs in twelve schools and colleges. He also holds appointments as Professor of Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering.

Previously, Dr. LeBlanc served as the Robert L. and Mary L. Sproull Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering at the University of Rochester. He has published extensively on various aspects of parallel computer systems, including multiprocessor operating systems and architecture, parallel programming languages, and parallel program debugging and performance prediction. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Office of Naval Research, and the Department of Defense. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a B.S. in Computer Science from State University of New York.
