During Art Basel Miami Beach in December, Luminaire and Christie’s presented Puppy Love, for which 36 renowned architects, artists, and designers from around the world converted plastic puppies into works of art.

The puppies were then auctioned, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting cancer research in the Molecular Oncology Program at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Two hundred and fifty guests attended the event, which raised $400,000—and one puppy for UM/Sylvester. Mehmet Bayraktar bought a gold puppy and donated it back to UM/Sylvester for display at the center.
