Fashion, food,
and fun were the flavor of the day at the Saks Key
to a Cure fundraising extravaganza in Bal Harbour on
October
12, held to benefit women’s cancer research. All
three floors of the store buzzed with excitement as guests
mingled and dined on fine food prepared by top chefs
from some of South Florida’s best restaurants
and caterers, including the Blue Door at the Delano
Hotel,
Tuscan Steak, Nobu, and Joy Wallace Catering, to name
a few. Guests listened to music from the Gold Coast
Orchestra and sipped cocktails, compliments of Grey
Goose vodka.
Philanthropist Irma Braman served as the
honorary event chair, while the co-chairs, Kim Wood,
Jeff Peck, and Alan
Randolph, all pitched in to make the party a huge success.
The paparazzi went wild when hotel heiress
Nicky Hilton and world-renowned artist Romero Britto
brought their own
special flair to the party. Britto created an original
painting especially for the Braman Family Breast Cancer
Institute at UM/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center
titled “Love
Life.” The original is on display and for sale at
Britto’s Lincoln Road Gallery in Miami Beach. A duplicate
giclee of the painting was produced for the event and was
raffled off. A limited edition scarf of “Love Life” was
also created and sold at the kick-off party. One hundred
percent of the raffle and scarf proceeds support the Braman
Family Breast Cancer Institute.
The event raised more than $34,000, and
2 percent of sales from Saks Bal Harbour the following
weekend went to support
research at UM/Sylvester. |
