Janet Konefal, Ph.D., M.P.H., L.Ac., is the new assistant dean for complementary and integrative medicine at the Miller School. Recognized as a national leader in complementary medicine, Konefal became a licensed acupuncturist in 1981 and had been the Miller School’s chief of the Division of Complementary Medicine and director of the Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine for more than a decade.

Holding degrees in public health, psychology, and education, Konefal has been with the Miller School for 30 years and has also served on a National Institutes of Health review committee. Konefal’s vision for complementary and integrative medicine is to create a healing environment, conduct evidence-based research, and train the next generation of professionals.
