Eduardo de Marchena, M.D., has been tapped to direct the University of Miami International Medicine Institute. A nationally recognized cardiologist and professor of medicine and surgery at the Miller School, de Marchena is also director of interventional cardiology, director of the cardiovascular center, and chairman of the University of Miami Medical Group.

De Marchena was recently interim chair of the Department of Medicine and former chief of the Division of Cardiology. The mission of the University of Miami International Medicine Institute is to serve as a global leader in cutting-edge clinical care, medical research, and education.
