John L. Bixby, Ph.D., has been named associate dean for graduate studies. Bixby is professor of molecular and cellular pharmacology and neurological surgery and a member of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Bixby was previously director of the Neuroscience Graduate Program, and prior to that he was director of the molecular and cellular pharmacology graduate program.

As associate dean, Bixby will be responsible for oversight of the master’s and Ph.D. programs based at the Miller School of Medicine, as well as the M.D./Ph.D. Program and the Postdoctoral Programs Office.
