Bart Chernow, M.D., a former vice dean of research at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, was named vice president for special programs and resource strategy and senior executive adviser to Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., at the Miller School of Medicine.

In his new role, Chernow, who is internationally renowned for his research and teaching in the field of critical care medicine, will help the Miller School dramatically accelerate the transformation of scientific discoveries into medical products and companies. He will also have a leadership role in fundraising for the school.
