Anne Burdick, M.D., M.P.H., professor of dermatology and director of the University of Miami Telemedicine Program, has been appointed associate dean for telemedicine and clinical outreach.

Burdick has broad expertise in the use of advanced telecommunications and technology to provide remote health care and education, having served in leadership capacities in the American Telemedicine Association. Burdick’s work with the Ryder Trauma Center, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology has led to innovative telemedicine programs.

Burdick has spearheaded several new international programs, including the interactive UM/Sylvester-Brazil Tumor Boards and the UM-Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Mexico Grand Rounds series. She also created the new UM-Boca Raton Community Hospital Plastic Surgery Grand Rounds.
